Caldecotte Xperience

Yurts

Our Yurt Village is a traditional Mongolian design, brought up to the 21st Century. Hand built, the structure is wooden framed with canvas covering and the space between is filled with natural sheep fleece and Mongolian horsehair insulation.

There are four bedrooms around a central main communal yurt. The bedroom accommodation comfortably sleeps 25 and there is capacity to sleep 3 additional people on futons in the main room.

The main room has a bespoke built kitchen with electric oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, sinks with hot and cold running water and all the pots and pans, crockery and cutlery you need.

The two main bedrooms have sets of bunk beds sleeping 10 in each with an en-suite toilet and sink located just off each room.

There are two smaller rooms which each has an accessible/hi dependency bed and a set of bunk beds which can be used for additional sleeping or for staff

The buildings were designed with accessibility in mind and are regularly used by groups of young people with additional needs who have found the accommodation comfortable, calming and creative.

Catering

We offer both catered and self catered stays. Both the The Yurt village and the main George Amey Centre have fully equipped kitchens.

Our catered stays offer healthy, balanced and filling meals that are cooked fresh on site daily and we are proud to hold FSA Food Hygiene Rating 5.

We are able to cater for all dietary, religious and allergy requirements.

The Action4Youth Caldecotte Xperience has been awarded the 5 star Food Hygiene rating.

Working with young people with additional needs

We have some of the best additional needs facilities in the region and are the only local provider with adapted equipment and trained staff who can support young people with disabilities to fully participate in outdoor adventure learning and residential stays. We strive to ensure that the widest range of activities and programmes are available and accessible, even for young people with the most complex needs.
