RYA Power Boat Level 1:
A one day introductory course to powerboating, techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment.
Qualification is dependent on assessed progress and skill level being reached.
RYA Powerboat Level 2:
A two-day course providing the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.
Course includes close quarters handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations. The course provided is the inland course.
RYA Safety Boat:
A two day course providing the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities. The course includes rescue techniques and elements of race management and mark laying.
Basic understanding of sailing boats and windsurfers. An RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate must be held prior to this course and ability assessed prior to the course if certificate not achieved at Caldecotte Xperience.
Working with young people with additional needs
We have some of the best additional needs facilities in the region and are the only local provider with adapted equipment and trained staff who can support young people with disabilities to fully participate in outdoor adventure learning and residential stays. We strive to ensure that the widest range of activities and programmes are available and accessible, even for young people with the most complex needs.
