RYA Level 1:
Brings complete beginners to the water supervised in a boat for the first time and is an introduction to sailing with everything that you need to know to get afloat. During the course you will be shown how to sail in all directions and be shown the basics including an awareness of launching and recovering. At the end of a level 1 course you will be able to sail in light winds under supervision.
RYA Level 2:
Progresses you from the Level 1 course and sets out the foundations of sailing for you. During the course you will be taught rigging, launching and the principles of sailing in all directions. Capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge are also part of this course. At the end of this course you will be able to sail and make decisions in good conditions.
Working with young people with additional needs
We have some of the best additional needs facilities in the region and are the only local provider with adapted equipment and trained staff who can support young people with disabilities to fully participate in outdoor adventure learning and residential stays. We strive to ensure that the widest range of activities and programmes are available and accessible, even for young people with the most complex needs.
