SAILING CLUB RETURNS ON 25TH MARCH 2017

What's on in Milton Keynes? 

Sailing club is for anyone looking to have a go at sailing. From beginners to more experienced sailors, this club is definitely for you. If you want to try out a course we can offer you those too and you can always try out sailing for birthday party too. 

Sailing Club Date and NEW TIME: Saturdays 12-2pm

Club will run through the late spring, summer and early autumn.

First date for the sailing club: Saturday 25th March 2017

Last date for sailing club: Saturday 25th November 2017

Cost: £8 per week payable by Standing order 

Day: Saturday

Time: 12-2pm

Age: 8 to 16+ years

Where: Caldecotte Xperience Lake North, next to the Caldecotte Arms Pub and Hotel. MK7 8HP

What You Should Bring: Suitable comfortable clothing, plimsolls or trainers and a complete change of clothes and footwear (in case you get wet); please remember to bring a towel & shower gear. All applicants for must be confident in water. Buoyancy Aids are provided; wet suits are available when necessary and appropriate.

Climbing Club

What's on in Milton Keynes?

Dates: Wednesdays all year round (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day)

Cost: £10 per week payable at the club or via standing order - forms available from the staff at the club to give to your bank.

Time: 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Age: 9 to 19 years

Climbing Club

Where: Caldecotte Xperience, Simpson Road, MK6 3AG and Big Rock.

After October half term we will be climbing exclusively at Big Rock for the winter period with the return to Mixed venue with Caldecotte Xperience to be announced after February half term.

Indoor Climbing during winter months at Big Rock with Caldecotte Xperience Instructors. 

Activities: Instruction in Climbing and bouldering - working towards NICAS awards and possible trips to the Peak District to broaden and test your skills.

What to Bring: snack and water   

Clothes: Comfortable and flexible (e.g tracksuit). No jeans.

Footwear: Trainers or climbing shoes

Progression: If you enjoy these sessions and wish to continue further, the sessions continue throughout the year giving you the chance to improve and develop your skills further.

Standing orders to be arranged through the office.

Monday Club

What's on in Milton Keynes? Clubs and activities for children and young people.

Now Drop off and Pick up from George Amey Centre in Simpson for the winter: starting 30/10/17

Every Monday all year round except bank holidays.

Monday Club                                                                                                                                        

Time: 6pm – 8pm

Cost: £27 by Standing order per month only

Age: 7 to 18 years

Land based activities - archery, caving, climbing, fencing, bush craft, team games, zorbing (November until March)

Where: Winter months (November until March) Land activities are held at The George Amey Centre, 366 Simpson Road MK6 3AG.

Water based activities - canoeing, kayaking, sailing, wind surfing, raft building, zorbing. (April until October)

Water activities are held at Caldecotte Xperience Lake North, next to the Caldecotte Arms Pub and Hotel MK7 8HP. (April until October)

Activities: Monday Club is held during term time and provides a variety of water and land based activities for all children and young people from 7-18 years of any ability. It is a good place for a complete beginner to experience some time out in canoe with other young people, learning how to paddle and work as a team to power the boat across the lake. Then you could take a turn in a kayak on your own, learning how to paddle with a double bladed paddle, making tight turns and changing direction under your own steam. Our skilled instructors will teach you everything you need to know about water safety and paddle sports. You can have a go at sailing in a Pico after learning how to rig the sails and have fun sailing across the water. You can even have a go at windsurfing for the first time. There's plenty of things to do at Caldecotte Xperience.

On land you can have a go at climbing, bouldering, high ropes, caving, archery, fencing or bush craft. There are so many things to choose from at Caldecotte that you won't ever get bored. You can constantly try something new and improve skills until you gain a qualification or even take up volunteering to help at a club yourself.

What should you bring: Suitable comfortable warm clothing, old coat, plimsolls or trainers, wind proof top.

Please wrap up warm for outdoor activities.

Rowing Club

What's on in Milton Keynes?

Our rowing club is growing from strength to strength. We have rowers who come along for recreational rowing and some who are here to compete. Our dedicated team of professional and assistant coaches and helpers are keen to welcome you to the sport of rowing at whatever level.

Open to 12-24 year olds who are looking for the fun and excitement of competitive sport at all levels....we are always looking for aspiring young athletes to join our team.

Beginners: In order to take the first steps on the road to rowing you must complete our Learn to Row course in November.

Learn to Row

Next date: 14-18 August 2017

From 9.00 - 5.00 pm at a cost of £120 for 5 day, 4 hours per day course where you will experience the first steps in rowing on both land and water. Rowing on an ergo to start with and then moving to the water in a stable boat or with an experienced crew you will learn basic technique, stability in the boat, confidence in the boat and the language of rowing. Each day ends with a bit of fun stuff with rowing games and boat activities. There is also core training and fitness included to give you a real idea of the life of a rower.
