ABOUT
CALDECOTTE XPERIENCE

Caldecotte Xperience deliver significant long-term learning and personal development outcomes for young people.

The Action4Youth Caldecotte Xperience, is located on the lake in Caldecotte Park, Milton Keynes and offers outstanding outdoor learning and adventure on the edge of the city. We enable young people of all abilities to learn to challenge themselves, have fun and work together discovering what they can achieve rather than what they can’t.

All programme frameworks have been developed alongside the Action4Youth wider provision, which include the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, the National Citizen Service, youth groups and club support and representation and Membership Services.

Unlike any other provider this gives us a unique perspective and understanding.

Learning should be fun. We make sure it is.

Benefits & Outcomes

We deliver significant long-term learning and personal development outcomes for young people including:
  • Increased self-confidence and esteem
  • Increased teamwork, leadership and communication skills
  • Increased physical and mental wellbeing
  • Increased engagement and achievement
  • Decreased social isolation
Action4Youth have been part of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation “Learning Away Report” that evidenced the benefits and indicated that exam grades can also improve by up to a whole grade as a direct result of a short residential stay.

"We visited The Caldecotte Xperience for the first time this Summer; staying in the wonderful Yurt Village. We supported a group of 16 young people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. We took advantage of many of the fabulous activities on site and were extremely well looked after by the staff team. The open spaces and wooded areas, within safe boundaries afforded the opportunity for the young people to explore in a safe environment, Accessible facilities onsite were excellent. The Caldecotte Xperience is a magical place and we will certainly be back!"
Anna Cheetham - Coordinator, Yellow Submarine
"VICTA regularly run activity breaks for children and young people who are blind or partially sighted. The Caldecotte Xperience is one of our most frequent venues; in 2016 we used it 6 times for a variety of different events, ranging from one off Family Days to 4 night residentials. We already have at least 4 events booked in for 2017."
Felicity Poulton - Lead Activities Coordinator, VICTA
"Superb facilities, instruction and hospitality, our children visibly grew in confidence during our residential visit - a fabulous experience! We shall certainly return."
Richard Knowles - Queens Park Academy
"Extremely impressed with the professionalism of the instructors, their knowledge and support throughout the two days. There were excellent facilities and execution of the activities. The group totally enjoyed their experiences. Thank you! We’ll definitely recommend to others!"
Cathy Chan - Parker School
"As a school we have around 180 pupils, ranging from 2-19 years, all of which have complex special needs (Severe Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Sensory Impairments, Epilepsy to name but a few). Every one of our children is unique and the experience that they get from visiting The Caldecotte Xperience is second to none."
