RIVER STUDIES

River Studies for Young People at Caldecotte Xperience

Because of its location, Caldecotte Xperience offers the chance to study the local river, which is part of the National Curriculum for Geography.

River Studies for young people of all abilities

Visit the local river and take a walk whilst working with our team of experienced instructors to examine the flow, profile, depth and width. Study the relationship with the balancing lakes and learn the vocabulary associated with rivers. There is also the opportunity to look at the amount of litter and pollution in the area and in the water. The river is also studied using local and ordinance survey maps.

Caldecotte Xperience offers a cross-curricular study opportunity

Did you know that rivers only make up less than 1% of the world’s water? This doesn’t make them any less important, in fact they provide ecosystems for some of our most important wildlife and some of the most beautiful environments. Here at Caldecotte, our river offers the opportunity to carry out creative writing and artwork as well as graphical recording of measurements.

A great cross curricular study opportunity that can be accessed during your residential stay or as a stand alone session.
