Exceptional accommodation at Caldecotte Xperience
Bunk rooms at George Amey Centre
The main centre at Caldecotte Xperience is the George Amey Centre and offers recently refurbished bunk rooms. The purpose built residential bunk rooms have a capacity of 45 people over 8 bunk rooms, consisting of three rooms of 8, three of 6 and separate rooms for teachers.
We have a wheelchair accessible bunk room with a wet room and shower chair. Some of our rooms have bathrooms and some have toilets. There are also additional male and female toilets with shower facilities as well as a disabled toilet.
Yurt Village for the ultimate residential outdoor leaning experience
The first Caldecotte Xperience yurt village complex was opened in 2015 and has proved very popular with visitors. This has now expanded to two yurt villages to keep up with high demand. The yurts are based on a traditional Mongolian design, brought up to the 21st Century with the building being interconnected and having bedrooms, bathrooms, accessible bedroom facilities, kitchen, electricity, heating and lighting.
There are four bedrooms around a central main communal yurt. The bedroom accommodation comfortably sleeps 25 and there is capacity to sleep 3 additional people on futons in the main room. The main room has a bespoke built kitchen with electric oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, sinks with hot and cold running water and all the pots and pans, crockery and cutlery you need.
The two main bedrooms have sets of bunk beds sleeping 10 in each with an en-suite toilet and sink located just off each room. There are two smaller rooms which each has an accessible/high dependency bed and a set of bunk beds which can be used for additional sleeping or for staff.
Camping around the campfire
In the summer months we also have a fun camping ground located around a central fire pit and bench seating. This makes a perfect environment for young people to experience camping, the joy of safe campfire, cooking schmores, telling stories and singing songs.
Booking the centre for a residential stay is easy. Accommodation can be booked from one night minimum.
