Action4Youth’s Outstanding Facilities provide Opportunities for ALL

Young peoples’ charity, Action4Youth offers some of the best disability provision in the region and the widest range of activities, at its outdoor leaning and adventure centre, Caldecotte Xperience.

With the largest range of activities available in the region, from archery to zorbing, Caldecotte Xpereince offers an A-Z of activities on both land and water, many of which are not normally accessible to young people with additional needs.

Because Action4Youth has some of the best specialist and adapted equipment at its Caldecotte Xperience it is able to offer training and fully certificated courses in many activities, including climbing, sailing, paddling and powerboating.

Delivering specialist learning opportunities, the centre offers a personal experience to every young person, building programmes that are tailored to the individual needs within each group.

This outstanding provision supports Action4Youth’s aim to give all young people the opportunity to challenge themselves, work with others and discover new skills and experiences that help them to grow in confidence and achieve success.

Ruth Sylvester, Head Teacher at The Redway School, Milton Keynes, explains: “As a school we have around 180 pupils, ranging from 2-19 years, all of which have complex special needs (Severe Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Sensory Impairments, Epilepsy to name but a few). Every one of our children is unique and the experience that they get from visiting the Caldecotte Xperience is second to none.”

Rich Wyatt, Director of Outdoor Education at Action4Youth explains: “As well as our outstanding facilities, Action4Youth’s instructors and staff all have specialist training and are experienced in delivering sessions with varying support requirements, so that all activities can be enjoyed by everyone, whatever their ability.”
