Caldecotte Xperience

Rowing

Experience this Olympic sport. We have a fleet of sculling boats for single scullers, doubles and quads. Learn basic skills, balance, use of the oars and strokes. Various balance games help you learn to be stable in the boat and, in the adaptive craft, you have the benefit of floats. Suitable for groups or whole classes the activities are started on land on rowing machines where you learn the basic rowing techniques, then progressed onto water and finally into inter class competitive rowing to put all the skills learned to the test.

We have a fleet of adaptive craft which can be tailored for beginners and disabled participants. We also have extended courses for those who want to take rowing a bit more seriously.

To book any of our activities please contact the centre and let us book your programme with you.

Working with young people with additional needs

We have some of the best additional needs facilities in the region and are the only local provider with adapted equipment and trained staff who can support young people with disabilities to fully participate in outdoor adventure learning and residential stays. We strive to ensure that the widest range of activities and programmes are available and accessible, even for young people with the most complex needs.
